Exciting Tours St Lucia- Cimb Mount Gimie:
We lead guided trips throughout the lush rainforests of St Lucia. Our specialty is the Edmund Forest Reserve, which contains Mount Gimie. To enter the Edmund Forest reserve, you are required by St Lucia law to travel with a licensed guide. Our company is one of the few that is officially licensed to guide trips to Mount Gimie. Here is a sampling of some of the trips that we offer:
- Forest hikes, including Enbas Saut Waterfalls, rain forest crossings, Edmund Forest Trails
- Plantation adventures
- Round-the-island sightseeing
- Tours of the sulphur springs and botanical gardens
Logistics and Transportation:
Once you arrive in St. Lucia, we’ll take care of your transportation to/from the Mount Gimie trailhead. If you can, please try to fly into UVF (Vieux Fort) rather than SLU, since it’s much closer to the trailhead, as described below.
There are two main airports in St Lucia: UVF (Hewanorra International Airport), located on the south end of the island in Vieux Fort; and SLU (George F. L. Charles Airport), located in Castries, in the north of St Lucia. UVF generally serves long-haul international flights from the US, UK, Canada and Germany, while SLU serves inter-Caribbean destinations. Cruise ships dock in Castries, close to the SLU airport.
Because Mount Gimie is located in the southern part of the island, our clients typically fly into UVF. When you land, we’ll pick you up and drive you to our trailhead office, located in the village of Fond St. Jacques, near Soufriere.
Day 1: Fly into UVF. We’ll meet you at the airport and drive you to our trailhead office (about 1-hour). Sleep at our trailhead accommodations, or you can bring a tent. (We can also pick you up from SLU/Castries, a 3-hour drive.)
Day 2*: Wake up at 7am, eat breakfast, and start hiking. Summit by 12 noon. Eat lunch on the summit. Back at the trailhead by 4pm.
*Note: we do offer trips to see sunrise from the summit, contact us for more details.
